Fitness Breakout

Break Free From the Average Body Type

About Fitness Breakout

If you want to learn how to get lean and stay lean without driving yourself nuts, then you’re in the right place.

Everyone wants to look good.  Unfortunately, not everyone can look like a supermodel.  What you can do is get lean enough to obtain the body of a fitness model.  For most people, this involves losing fat.  That’s what this website is all about.  Many people would love to break free from the average body type.  Fitness Breakout will teach you how to do exactly that.  The lean and toned look is the way to go. If you want to look like the juiced up wrestler type, then this site isn’t for you.

Who am I and why should you listen to me?

Playing soccer has helped me lose fat like crazy! Here is a shot of me playing in our corporate soccer tourney

My name is Alykhan Gulamali.  I was born in Nairobi, Kenya but I’ve spent most of my life in Florida.  I grew up in Jacksonville, which is where I currently reside.  Growing up, I played competitive soccer several days a week.  Throughout my childhood, I was very lean.  I had zero muscle and weighed less than 130 pounds when I graduated high school.  I ate junk food constantly and never gained weight.

Then, I went to college.  At the University of Florida, a couple of my friends got me into weightlifting.  I quickly packed on a respectable amount of muscle. Unfortunately, I also continued to eat whatever I wanted and stopped playing soccer.  Before I knew it, I had gained about 30 pounds (probably about 10 pounds of muscle and 20 pounds of fat).  I went from having no muscle and very little fat to having a decent amount of muscle and even more fat.

After I graduated, I moved back to Jacksonville for work.  For about three years, I maintained the same body composition I had developed in college (which wasn’t very impressive).  Then one day, I was inspired and decided to make a change.  My goal was to find the happy medium between my high school body and my college body. I wanted to keep the muscle I had gained, but lose all the fat. Within a few months, I was able to accomplish this and drop my body fat percentage from 16% to less than 8%.

I did this by following a few basic principles and I did it while working a minimum of 40 hours a week in a cubicle. Today, I am not a personal trainer, fitness model, or dietician. I am just a normal nine to five cubicle dweller who wanted to sport the lean and toned look that is seemingly reserved for actors, models, and professional athletes. My goal is to teach you how to apply these same principles to achieve your fat loss goals without wasting a lot of time or breaking the bank.

What do you need to be successful?

You don’t need a personal trainer to get in great shape.  All you need is good information, a solid game plan, and a little bit of motivation.  Keep in mind that good information is not always popular information. Some of the methods I promote are unconventional, but I anticipate they will eventually become mainstream as more and more people use them successfully.  The key is to use the information on this website to generate a plan that works for you and create something that is tailored to your lifestyle.  Finally, you need to be motivated because let’s face it, if you don’t want to do something, then you probably won’t.

My story is real. Here is a before and after pic as proof that I practice what I preach. 2006 (left) and present (right).

The following are some topics I will cover in this blog:

• Strategic eating to help you shed pounds
• Efficient and effective strength training methods
• Cardio tips that will get you lean
• The one and only thing that matters when it comes to fat loss
• Fitness in the world of entertainment and sports
• Random fun posts

Anyone can do this…

Believe it or not, you don’t need to work out for hours every day to lose fat.  You don’t even need to give up your favorite foods.  In fact, you will be much more successful if you don’t. What you do need is to understand the principles behind fat loss and how to apply them to your everyday life.  Whether your goal is to shed 50 pounds or to lose that last stubborn bit if flab that will take you from skinny-fat to beach-ready, you will be well-served by following my advice.

Don’t hesitate, participate!

Obviously, I don’t have all the answers to everything, so I encourage plenty of discussion and comments.  Feel free to post ideas and suggestions.  The objective here is not to throw down the iron fist, but to help people achieve their fitness goals, improve their health and wellness, and look good in the process.  Obesity is a huge problem in America today and is expected to worsen in the future.  Currently, one third of the American population is obese.  In ten years, this number will be close to fifty percent.  Think about that… in the near future, being average will equate to being obese!  Don’t settle for an average body. Join me and be a part of the fitness breakout!

Best wishes,

    Hey Alykhan,

Very good, solid, educational, non-hyped, and instantly useable information you have here.

I can reflect a bit on your timelime of “eat as much and what you want still look good because I am an active teenager” to the whole “lifestyle and age took over and now I gain 3 pounds instantly just by looking at a milkshake” timeline of your life.

It’s a sneaky path and in your eyes you still look like the lead dancer for the Chippendales, but in reality you look and feel like good ole Al Bundy.

Hopefully other people are able to open their eyes and make some lifestyle changes to take advantage a nice looking bod and good health.

You have writing and teaching talents, so I hope you put out your own product some day.

    Later Buddy.

    @ Chad,

Thanks for stopping by! Making positive lifestyle changes will pay dividends at any age, but it is even more important for adults who have an inactive job.

I appreciate the kind words and I do plan to put out my own product eventually. I’m actually working on my first free report right now!

    Alykhan,
No body wants to be average. I think most guys realise that bodybuilding is not the way to achieve the look that women find most attractive. I find a combination of HIIT, Intermitent Fasting, Crossfit and Weight Training has put me in the best shape of my life, all at the age of 34. Chat soon.

    @ Niko,

Thanks for reading. I also use intermittent fasting along with a combination of strength training and HIIT for fat loss. This is a winning formula if you stick with it.
